Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
The skiddy pacer ended with 10 wickets from 5 games and jointly led the Indian bowling charts along-side Ravindra Jadeja, who was the vice-captain of that side. Just before the under-19 World Cup, the wiry beaten frame of Kaul had left an impact at the domestic level as he picked up a fifer in his debut game against Odisha in 2007.
But a host of injuries derailed his smooth run and he was more out than in at the first-class level till 2012. But then came the revival and Kaul has managed to spearhead the Punjab bowling line-up.
He was picked up by the Delhi franchise for IPL 2013 and 2014. He failed to impress much and Sunrisers Hyderabad bid for him ahead of IPL 2016. He was benched for that season but 2017 saw the skiddy pacer shooting into limelight for his 16 wickets in 10 games. He bowled some crucial overs for the David Warner led team and was an ideal foil to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Largely overshadowed by Bhuvi in the previous year, the Punjab speedster finally came into his own in IPL 2018 and earned the tag as a death-bowling specialist. He developed a new skill to his arsenal - the knuckle ball - which proved to be his potent weapon, of course combined with his razor sharp yorkers.
21 scalps in the tournament and joint-highest wicket-taker for SRH, Kaul boosted his prospects of playing for India and the selectors didn't disappoint, drafting him into the limited-overs set-up for Ireland and England tour.
Kaul realized his dream when he made his debut for India in the 2nd T20I against Ireland at the Village ground in Dublin. The 28-year old returned with figures 4 for 1 in his 2 overs. With Bhuvi and Umesh leading the pace attack for India, Siddarth Kaul failed to find a place in the first two T20Is against England, however India opting for 'Horses for courses' strategy in the 3rd T20I meant that Kaul was brought back into the side.
Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
Siddarth Kaul, a right-arm pace bowler, began playing cricket in 1996 under the influence of his father, Tej, a former India physiotherapist and brother, Uday, who both played first-class cricket. Kaul made his first-class debut for Punjab in 2007-08, taking 5 for 97 against Orissa, and played alongside his brother Uday. Kaul's first major international tournament was the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia and he played a vital part in India's victory with his accurate line and length, which brought him ten wickets at an average of 15.40.
A spate of injuries, however, meant his career went downhill. Between December 2007 and February 2012, Kaul played all of six domestic matches across formats. In the year 2012, he showed glimpses of improved form and fitness, picking up 38 wickets in 13 matches. He found his rhythm the following season, drawing inspiration from Yuvraj Singh. Kaul's hit-the-deck bustle proved the ideal foil for Sandeep Sharma's swing as Punjab's attack prospered.
The rejuvenated Kaul was signed up by Delhi Daredevils in 2013, but had an ordinary stint with them. He then joined his Punjab team-mate Yuvraj at Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2016 IPL.
