Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
Hailing from Haryana, the opening batsman and wicketkeeper started out as a medium-pacer - he played the Under-19 World Cup in 2002 for India as a bowler. Having begun his first-class career with Haryana, he then played for Himachal Pradesh. In the 2011-2012 season he was not part of the Indian first-class set-up. He has been an IPL regular, having been part of the Deccan Chargers in 2009 and Kings XI Punjab the following season. He joined Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011, and though he only got limited opportunities, he was the unlikely hero in the 2012 final when his fearless 89 gave Knight Riders the title.
