Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
Prashant Vaidya had a short international career - and his first class career too did not last very long. He made his Ranji Trophy debut in 1992-93 and by the end of the 1996-97 season, his career had virtually ground to a halt. But very early in his career, he was thought of as a medium pace bowler of some promise, especially after he spent some time at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai and was pitchforked into the national squad which toured New Zealand in 1994-95. He got to play in only one ODI against Australia at Dunedin in the New Zealand Centenary Tournament. Following that, he went with the Indian team for the Asia Cup in Sharjah and there again he got to play only one match, against Bangladesh. The next season he played two games against South Africa and Pakistan in the Pepsi Sharjah Cup. But after playing these four matches, his rather undistinguished international career came to an end. Even on the domestic circuit, Vaidya did not record any outstanding performance and very soon disappeared totally from the scene. (Natarajan Sriram)
