Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
Nagarkoti faced rejection on his maiden Rajasthan U14 cricket team trials. He came back and worked on the outswinger to cut the mustard in his next attempt. He then went on to be a regular at U14, U16 and U19 teams.
Picked for India U19's tour to England, Nagarkoti emerged as the leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps across two Youth Tests, and also went on to be a part of the India U23 team for the Asia cup. With an impressive resume already, Nagarkoti was picked for the U19 team to represent India at the World Cup.
Nagarkoti made his List A debut for Rajasthan in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and impressed in just his second game, bailing his team out with an unbeaten fifty and then rattling Gujarat later with a hat-trick.
Thanks to a string of impressive outings, Nagarkoti was bought for INR 3.2 crore contract by Kolkata Knight Riders at the 2018 IPL auctions but didn't play a game due to injury concerns and unfortunately, that would continue to be the theme for him at the IPL. Despite being retained by KKR in 2019, he was ruled out due to a back injury and it wouldn't be until 2020 that he finally got a chance to make his IPL debut. He featured in 10 games that season and picked up 5 wickets. The 2021 and 2022 (in which he played for Delhi) editions saw him feature in just one game each. He was bought by the Delhi Capitals in 2022.
Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
Bustling through the crease with a whippy action, Kamlesh Nagarkoti is among the quickest bowlers coming through the age-group ranks in India, clocking regularly in excess of 140kph. His athleticism and ability to bowl long spells makes him a captain's dream. His lightning sharp reflexes at backward point, coupled with his hitting ability lower down the batting order, makes him an all-round asset.
Nagarkoti made his List A debut for Rajasthan during the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and impressed in his second game, rescuing his team from 54 for 6 with an unbeaten half-century. He followed that by claiming the first hat-trick by a Rajasthan bowler in List A cricket to bowl his side to victory.
In his first trip outside the subcontinent, Nagarkoti took 14 wickets in two youth Tests against England Under-19 at 15.14, including a match haul of 10 for 112 in the first Test in Chesterfield. More impressive performances earned him a spot in India's Under-19 squad for the 2018 World Cup. At the IPL auction in February 2018, he was bought for INR 3. (USD 500,000 approx.) crore by Kolkata Knight Riders.
