Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
Hailing from Bihar's Samastipur district, Anukul had to move to Jharkhand to pursue his dreams of playing for India. But the journey to represent India in the 2018 WC was not at all a bed of roses. There was a stress related ankle injury and he missed the under-19 challenger series before the mega event and also had to skip the under-19 Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur. But he had done well on the tour to England with the Indian colts and that was enough to convince coach Rahul Dravid that Anukul had to take the flight to New Zealand for the biennial event.
Being a slow left-armer and a left-handed batsman, it is a no-brainer that Roy looks up to Ravindra Jadeja for inspiration. He himself is a live-wire on the field with a very strong throwing arm. Anukul debuted for Jharkhand in the List-A format after his exploits in the under-19 triumph and was also picked up by Mumbai Indians at the IPL auctions in 2018.
