Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
With players like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir busy with national duties, Mithun Manhas captained Delhi for most periods since the start of this millennium. Whenever Gambhir was absent, he led the side and played a very crucial role in Delhi's triumphant Ranji campaign in 2007/08, where they won the trophy after a gap of 16 years.
Manhas' personal contribution during that season also deserves praise. He scored 598 runs that season, averaging just a shade below 50. He has played for three different franchises in the Indian Premier League - Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India and Chennai Super Kings.
With just under 8000 runs in Ranji games, Manhas is currently fourth on the list of the highest run-scorers in Ranji history, not far behind Hrishikesh Kanitkar in the third place. With an average above 45 in both first-class games and his List A career, he has been one of the most consistent performers in the domestic circuit over the years.
Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
Mithun Manhas is one of the many middle-order batsmen in Indian domestic cricket who were born in the wrong era: that of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly. Throughout his best years, there was never a vacancy at the India level. For Delhi, though, he has been a stabilising presence in the middle since 1998. With the bigger players, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, mostly absent on national duty, Manhas has been the captain of the side for most of the new millennium. He was at the helm when Delhi ended their championship drought in 2007-08, although Gambhir led the side in the semi-final and final. He scored 921 runs in that first-class season at 57.56.
