Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
He then moved to Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL-4 before being roped in by Rajasthan Royals the next season. However, he did not play the cash-rich league again as he found no bidders for the next two years.
Shreevats Goswami made his first-class debut with Bengal in 2008 against Madhya Pradesh. However, he was not seen as a good material for the longest format of the game and was picked only for limited-overs cricket. With the emergence of Wriddhiman Saha, he has found it tough to seal a place in the side.
Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
A wicketkeeper batter like his idol Adam Gilchrist, Shreevats Goswami has had to contend with being Wriddhiman Saha's understudy for a majority of his career. Yet, he has managed to carve a niche in a flourishing Bengal set-up over the years, rising through the ranks to be a key member of their limited-overs setup for a better part of the last decade.
Goswami impressed everyone with his nifty glove work at the Under-19 World Cup in 2008, and was part of the winning batch under Virat Kohli's captaincy. He contributed a valuable 58 in the semi-final against a testing New Zealand attack He would soon be picked up along with Kohli by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He ended the inaugural IPL season with the Emerging Player Award.
That should've been the springboard for bigger feats in the IPL, but he has managed to feature in just 31 games over a decade, with stints across three sides - Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was part of the Sunrisers until IPL 2020.
Goswami's value to the Bengal set-up shone bright when they made the Ranji Trophy final in the 2019-20 season, where they finished runners-up to Saurashtra. Goswami contributed three vital half-centuries and played in each of the matches, but the final where he made way for the returning Saha.
