Heres what CricBuzz says about him.
As modest as his international record may be, Naman has been phenomenal in the domestic circuit. After impressing during the 2008-09 Challenger Trophy, his performances remain subdued for a while before he came back with a thundering 2013-14 season for his home side Madhya Pradesh, scoring 835 runs - his best ever. The 33-year-old is clearly the second choice wicket-keeper these days and will have to score in heaps to go a rank higher and challenge Wriddhiman for the Test spot.
Critics might argue that Wriddhiman Saha is the premier wicket-keeper but Ojha's ability to score freely does not allow the Bengal keeper to run away with the spot. Ojha might have had to wait long for his Test debut but his ODI dreams were realized back in 2010 in Zimbabwe when he made his debut against Sri Lanka during a triangular series. Ojha was a part of 2016 IPL-winning Surisers Hyderabad team and was instrumental in their success.
Heres what ESPNcricinfo says about him.
A capable top-order batsman and wicketkeeper, Ojha made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2000-01. He has tasted success in the limited-overs format and made his mark in the 2008-09 Challenger Trophy, scoring 96 for India Green. The Rajasthan Royals came calling during the second season of the IPL and he made a mark in his second game, smashing a half-century. His first tryst with the big league was when he was included as a back-up wicketkeeper in the limited-overs sides for India's tour of Zimbabwe, when the selectors decided to rest several senior players, including MS Dhoni. He got only three games on tour but failed to make an impression. He made a mark in the 2013-14 domestic season for Madhya Pradesh, scoring 835 runs in seven Ranji Trophy games, his best returns in over a decade of domestic cricket. He carried his form forward to Australia with the A side in 2014, scoring three consecutive centuries, including a double-century, in the first-class games. He was soon called up to the India Test squad in England as a replacement for the reserve wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. While he did not get a chance to play on that tour, he impressed with two hundreds and a double in two first-class games for India A against Australia A in Australia, followed by another double-ton in the Duleep Trophy. That resulted in him being named the reserve keeper for the first Test of the Australia tour in December.
